Who We Are and What We Do:

The Parent Connection (TPC) was founded in 1992, as a response to a report that identified families with children ages birth to five as a critically under-served population in Pima County. In 1999, TPC became a member of Arizona’s Children Association family of agencies, a statewide provider of a broad spectrum of services aimed at protecting children and preserving families.

The Parent Connection fills a unique niche in Pima County by providing an opportunity for any parent or caregiver to gain knowledge about child development, to enhance and gain skills around their parenting, to exchange experiences and perspectives with other parents, and to have fun with their child. TPC educators are highly skilled and experienced, holding advanced degrees in family studies, education, or counseling. They are also certified to facilitate a wide variety of curriculum-based classes.

The Parent Connection embraces Adlerian based parenting, promoting consistent, positive, democratic parenting techniques based on mutual respect between parent and child, and promoting choices and consequences as an alternative to rewards and punishment

Most of The Parent Connection classes and activities take place at our family resource center located at 5326 E. Pima Street in Tucson. Center-based activities are offered through a membership plan designed to make it easier and more economical for families. Scholarships are also available.  When you join The Parent Connection, membership entitles you to:

• A variety of Family Playtimes
• Ready access to parent educators
• Learning opportunities with featured guest speakers
• Discounts on specialty class fees
